I’ve lost my quilting mojo, so I’ve been avoiding sewing altogether. Today I decided enough is enough, & cleaned out my sewing area, reorganizing my boxes & prioritizing projects. I have quilting bee blocks to finish (three months behind), new quilts to make for family, kids, teacher, & friends, AND a box full of QIPs. Today I pulled these four pieces out of that box.
These pieces are more than a year old, & the original plan, as well as plan B, are not going to happen. But the pieces are large, & the colors are pretty. So, my plan is to throw them all together (somehow) into a baby/toddler quilt & donate it to the hospital.

“the only way out is through” right? mojo be damned!
those pieces are really cool. I would almost just leave them spaced as they are and fill in the negative space and about 12″ around with that beautiful dark purple. Yep, I can see it now.
I am coming out of my own sewing funk too. Now I find I am filled with ideas, just wish I had more time to make it all! I love these purples you are using. It will be a great quilt!
Very pretty pieces! I’m sure they’ll make a great little quilt!
I’m sure you’ll be able to make a spectacular quilt out of all these – I agree with Rossie – the dark purple would be amazing! I’m really behind on quilting bee blocks too!
Sorry about the mojo, but those quilt blocks are amazing! The colors are perfect together and they’ll make an awesome baby quilt if you can get through it!
Mojo loss is never good. But I did hear a good way to get through, and it is what you did. “Butt in seat.” Instead of wasting time waiting for inspiration, just get your butt in the seat and start sewing.
I’m so with you on the “just start doing” way of getting out of a funk. It’s what I will be doing today! I actually LOVE the purples and greens together and think it will turn out adorable for a little girl.
Those are some good looking parts! I’m looking forward to what you make of them, I’m sure it will be wonderful!
Wow, your pictures are such an inspiration! There is such a trend right now from big fabric companies to go toward sewing garments and I’m just getting into making quilts! But I think these more modern quilts really speak to those who like to “think outside the blocks” Thanks for sharing and I’m totally adding you to my Google Reader!

The right pieces make a baggie for the quilt. Next use the center batch for the forn and the left batch for the back.
