It’s my turn!

June 8, 2010

It’s my month in the Common Threads VQB. Yay!

I have had this photo in my inspiration file for a long time, & I’ve lost the source. If any of you know where it came from, please tell me so I can take this one down & link to the original. I am asking my friends to make blocks in the style of the blocks in this quilt, but with the negative space reversed (blue backgrounds & white strips, with blue around the edges). Hopefully there will be some tiny pops of other colors too.

I can’t wait to see what my creative friends make!

***EDIT: The inspiration quilt was made by none other than Ingrid Press. But of course. :)

Hiya
The quilt looks amazing. Knew I’d seen the quilt somewhere before – finally realised it was hanging at the Festival of Quilts Exhibition in Birmingham last summer. It was made by Ingrid Press who is a UK quilter. Ingrid had her own exhibition at the show last year.

She doesnt seem to have a website or blog (unfortunately). I found two websites that have a small bit of info about her. The 2nd link shows another version of “the” quilt in blue and cream which you might be interested in.

Thank you so much! I was pretty sure it was by Ingrid, but I couldn’t find any evidence online. I do love that blue & white one, I may have to try my own version of that someday as well.
