Amanda’s BFC (big flippin’ chevron)
Here is my chevron block for Amanda (in the Mid Mod bee). This block is 20″. It’s huge, but I really like the size because she’ll be able to make a whole quilt easily using just the blocks from the bee quilters. I should have thought of that when it was my turn. Oh well, next time…
At first this seemed like a super easy block, until I started trying to figure out how to actually put it together. I ended up needing to draw it to figure out where all the seams needed to go. I have a need to do the least amount of seams necessary. It’s a disease.
Dream On QIP
I’ve never bought a charm pack before… I guess I never saw an entire fabric line that I loved enough to put all together in one quilt. But the Dream On line by Urban Chiks is so very cool. So I bought a charm pack this summer, & combined them with some solids from my stash. I ended up adding a few other prints too.
As much as I love the fabrics, I’m not loving this quilt top.
I’m contemplating what I can do to make it more “me”. Hmmm… Thoughts?
Diamonds QIP
Okay, so good sense won out. I decided to finish up this little quilt top that has been in process for a while. I have this thing I call “brain fog”… The more projects I have actually in process, the foggier I feel. Clearing out the QIPs keeps me calm. :)
I have been super in love with Leslie’s diamond quilt since I first saw it a long time ago. This is my first diamond quilt attempt (I will be cutting off the white points to make straight sides, in case you are wondering). The back still needs to be sewn, but it is planned out & pieces are cut.
I’m planning to put together instructions for this one as well, so stay tuned! The diamonds are not hard to cut. Trust me. I have serious ADD when it comes to cutting fabric pieces & matching corners, which is why I do a lot of intuitive designs. :)

Green & brown
I came across this picture in my files today & decided to post it. I made this quilt a while back & have since sold it. It’s actually a small version of a twin-size quilt I made (which is yellow, blue & brown). Sorry about the blurry-ness, but this is the only picture I have of it. The back is big random blocks of different greens.
One of my favorite details of this quilt is the binding. I roughly matched it to the fabrics along the edge of the front, & I really like the effect. As a mom of little boys, I am pretty much against white (or off-white) binding, but I love the way it looks here. It’s a lap size – about 45″ x 60″.
